Guiding Principles & School Rules at GGB Royal International School
At GGB Royal International School, we believe that discipline is about guiding children to develop good habits, responsibility, and respect for others. We want our school to be a happy and safe place for every child.
Instead of strict punishments, we focus on working together with parents to correct mistakes and encourage positive behavior.
Here are the basic guidelines we follow to keep our school running smoothly:
1. Punctuality and Attendance
- Starting the Day Right: Students should reach the school at least 10 minutes before the morning bell. Arriving on time helps them settle down and start their day peacefully.
- Regular Attendance: Going to school regularly helps children stay connected with their studies. As per CBSE guidelines, students should try to maintain at least 75% attendance.
- Taking Leaves: If your child is unwell or needs to attend a family function, simply write a short leave note in their school diary. For a sickness lasting more than 3 days, a doctor’s slip helps us understand the child’s health better.
2. Uniform and Cleanliness
- School Uniform: Wearing the school uniform brings a sense of equality among all students. We request parents to send their children in clean, ironed uniforms, complete with the ID card.
- Neatness: A clean child is a healthy child. Please ensure shoes are polished, nails are trimmed, and hair is neatly combed (short hair for boys, and neatly tied hair for girls).
3. Creating a Happy Environment
- Respecting Everyone: We teach our students to be polite to everyone—teachers, classmates, and school helpers like guards and cleaning staff.
- Kind Words Only: We encourage children to use kind and polite words. If a child uses bad language or gets into a disagreement, our teachers will gently counsel them and, if needed, discuss the matter with you to guide them in the right direction.
- Language Practice: To help students build confidence for the future, we lovingly encourage them to practice speaking in English with their friends and teachers.
4. Care for School Property
- Our Shared Space: The school is like a second home. We teach children to keep their classrooms clean by using dustbins for wrappers and pencil shavings.
- Handling Things with Care: We guide students to take care of school desks, library books, and lab equipment. If a child accidentally damages something, we will inform the parents so we can work together to teach the child about responsibility and care.
5. Items Best Left at Home
To help children focus on their studies and play, we request that certain items remain at home:
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, or any electronic items.
- Expensive jewelry or large amounts of pocket money.
- Toys or sharp objects that could cause injury.
Note: If a child brings a mobile phone or electronic item by mistake, it will be safely kept in the school office, and parents can easily collect it when the school gets over.
6. Partnering with Parents
We believe that parents and teachers are a team. We request you to:
- Check and sign the school diary daily. It is the best way for teachers to share quick updates or homework with you.
- Pack the school bag according to the daily timetable so that your child doesn’t have to carry a heavy bag.
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) so we can sit together, celebrate your child’s progress, and discuss how to support them better.
